Policy on Open Data and FAIR Datasets

The journal Informatics. Culture. Technology supports the principles of open science and encourages authors to provide access to the data underlying published results.

Data deposition. Authors preparing manuscripts for the journal must ensure that research data are deposited in recognized institutional, national, or international repositories (for example, Zenodo, Figshare, OSF) that comply with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable).

Data identification. A digital identifier (DOI) must be obtained for each dataset. The repository DOI must be indicated in the article metadata and in the section related to data and materials. This ensures transparency, reproducibility, and citability of the research.

Author responsibility. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the provided datasets and guarantee that access to them does not violate the rights of third parties.

Reporting. The editorial board monitors the number of FAIR datasets deposited by authors and periodically publishes statistical information on the implementation of the open data policy. The journal applies this policy to all future publications.

By submitting a manuscript for consideration, the journal expects authors to comply with these requirements. If research data are unavailable or cannot be made public, authors must provide justification in the cover letter.
